On April 16, 2026, Professor Dr. Arpad BARICZ, who works at Babeș-Bolyai University (Romania) and Obuda University (Hungary), gave a presentation titled "Bounds for quotients of Whittaker functions of the first and second kind" in the Mathematics Department seminar hall.

The seminar, which saw high participation from our faculty members and graduate students, continued with Professor BARICZ answering questions. The Head of the Mathematics Department, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nimet ÇOŞKUN, presented a certificate of appreciation prepared by the Faculty of Science Dean's Office. Following the presentation of gifts and a group photo session, Professor BARICZ engaged in a pleasant conversation with our faculty members regarding potential collaborations with our department. He provided students with an eye-opening seminar, not only on theorems but also on the article writing and publishing process and stories about famous mathematicians like Paul Erdös.
