History

The Faculty of Applied Sciences was established by a Council of Ministers Decree dated September 11, 2017, in accordance with Article 30 of Law No. 2809, enacted on March 28, 1983. The Department of Banking and Insurance was subsequently founded and began admitting students in the fall semester of the 2018–2019 academic year.


Degree Awarded

This undergraduate program is based on a 240-ECTS credit system in the field of banking and insurance. Upon successful completion of all courses and requirements, students are awarded the Bachelor’s Degree in Banking and Insurance.


Admission Requirements

Applicants must comply with the procedures and successfully pass the examinations determined by PMSP (ÖSYM) in accordance with university regulations.
Students currently enrolled in equivalent programs at other universities, in Turkey or abroad, may apply for lateral transfer, subject to academic evaluation and program requirements.


Progression to Graduate Programs

Graduates may pursue postgraduate education by applying to relevant master’s or doctoral programs, provided they meet the required ALES score, foreign language proficiency, and undergraduate GPA criteria.


Graduation Requirements

To graduate, students must:

  • Successfully complete all courses in the curriculum,
  • Earn a minimum of 240 ECTS credits,
  • Achieve a minimum GPA of 2.00, and
  • Complete one year of on-the-job training (during the 7th and 8th semesters).

Employment Opportunities

The Department aims to equip students with theoretical knowledge and practical skills for careers in the banking, insurance, and finance sectors.
Graduates can find employment in:

  • Public institutions,
  • Banks, insurance, leasing, and factoring companies,
  • Capital markets and stock exchanges,
  • Independent auditing and consulting firms,
  • Academic or managerial positions, or pursue entrepreneurial ventures.

Students may also participate in international exchange programs such as ERASMUS, FARABI, and MEVLANA.


Assessment and Evaluation

All courses are graded on a 0–100 scale. The final grade is calculated based on:

  • 40% from midterm exams
  • 60% from final exams
