Philosophy is the sum of comprehensive constructed views on human life and the universe. However, the difference between these views is that they emerge as a result of conscious and deep thoughts. Philosophical thought uses concepts and abstractions, and with their help, it puts forward principles and laws. The most distinctive feature of philosophy is that it is an activity based on reason; the aim of this activity is to obtain true knowledge. Philosophical thought is an endless thought movement. In philosophical thought, there is a continuous and incessant movement of thought.
In this context, the main purpose of the Department of Philosophy is to ensure that the student can approach the basic problems of today with a philosophical perspective with the ability to reason effectively in the problems that have been addressed in philosophy from the past to the present. At the same time, revealing the skills of criticizing and questioning the history of philosophy independently of the thinking system that is limited to the ability to memorize is one of the main goals of this program. In this context, it is aimed that the students graduating from our department will have general philosophy formation, as well as the ability to think analytically and critically, and to have the basic equipment to contribute to the intellectual activities and academic life in by moving on to the advanced stages of higher education.
