Special Education Program:

Special education is performed by specially trained staff in appropriate settings with advanced education programs and methods to meet educational, self-confidential and qualification needs of individuals who have significant and meaningful developmental differences from the expected level in terms of special education, personal characteristics and educational qualifications.

Regardless of the cause of developmental differences, efforts to raise public consciousness should continue within educational research and projects in order to ensure that the individuals who make up the society live together. The program aims to train special education teachers, field specialists and academic staff who will work with students, family, teachers and other members of the community to meet the needs of individuals and families with special needs or abilities acting in the context of contemporary educational understanding functions.

Graduates of Special Education Department Bachelor Degree Program have the title of "Special Education Teacher". Graduates are employed in rehabilitation centers, guidance and research centers as well as state or private elementary, middle and secondary schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education. Those who have a bachelor's degree may start postgraduate studies and may also work as experts and academicians in that field.

Although there are the departments of visually impaired, hearing impaired, mentally disabled and gifted education branches within the Department of Special Education at our university, we plan to start teaching activities in these departments as undergraduate and post-graduate education thereafter.
